What is animism? What do our forefathers have to do with us? What religions do other people groups have in undeveloped countries? What religions do missionaries experience on islands and in different countries, and how can we, as Christians and Westerners, handle it at the same time proclaiming the gospel? Lothar was a Professor at Freiburg University. He is an Anthrologist, Ethnologist, and Linguist. He has been a missionary in the Chuuk Island in Micronesia for five years. He has written several books some of which are “Animism: A Cognative Approach An Introduction to the Basic Notions”, “Foreign Cultures: An Introduction to Ethnology”, and “Light in the South Seas: Wilhelm Friedrich & Elisabeth Kärcher - Life and Work of a Liebenzeller Missionary Couple.” He has also been involved in several commemorative publications (Festschriften).
